JEFFERY WERNER TALKS ABOUT “INCREDIBLE STUNTS!”

– AND HIS OWN INCREDIBLE STORIES.

Jeffery Werner has traveled across the nation – and 60 countries – photographing daredevils who put themselves in harm’s way in every way imaginable – by motorcycle, gun, hot-air balloon, airplane, car, train, helicopter, boat, ski, and even a washing machine. 

His work has been published in People, Time, Newsweek, Life, The National Enquirer, and The Smithsonian, and he is the only still photographer inducted into the Stuntworld Hall of Fame.  All these travels and travails have resulted in a new book: Incredible Stunts!, a collection of his best work.

Some of the photos in the book were captured with a special Hulcher camera that shoots up to 65 frames-per-second, resulting in images that would have been impossible to catch with a conventional camera.  Other sequences were shot with as many as 15 remote cameras, requiring hours of set up to document an action that lasted just a few seconds. 

Werner has mounted cameras on airplane wings and tail assemblies, inside cars, and clamped to the front of trains in order to catch shots that would have been impossible or too dangerous otherwise, even destroying the cameras themselves – but catching great photos in the process.

Jeffery will talk about taking those photos and the process of putting together a self-published book – an adventure all in itself.
